TerraVault Logistics (SL) Ltd facilitates the lawful, secure and fully documented export of gold from Sierra Leone to refiners, bullion dealers, financial institutions and private buyers across international markets. Each consignment is independently verified, assayed, valued and licensed before it ever leaves our custody, and moves under insured, tracked transport with a complete chain-of-custody record — from the point of receipt to final handover at destination. Our procedures draw on internationally recognised due-diligence practice for the responsible sourcing and trade of precious minerals, giving buyers, sellers and financial partners full confidence in the origin, purity and legitimacy of every shipment.
Our Gold Exportation Process
Initial Consultation & Documentation
We meet with the client — mining company, licensed dealer or individual — to establish the quantity, source and intended destination of the gold, and to confirm the documentation required, including proof of ownership and any applicable mining or trading licences.
Verification & Weighing
The gold is received, weighed on calibrated equipment and physically inspected in the presence of the client, establishing an agreed baseline quantity before any further processing begins.
Independent Assaying & Purity Testing
A certified assay determines the purity, or fineness, of the gold. This independent test protects both buyer and seller and forms the objective basis for accurate valuation and export declaration.
Valuation
Using the verified weight and assayed purity, current international market rates are applied to establish a fair, transparent and defensible valuation of the consignment.
Regulatory Clearance & Export Licensing
We coordinate the necessary approvals with the relevant Sierra Leonean authorities — including the Ministry of Mines and Mineral Resources and the National Minerals Agency — to obtain the required export permit for the consignment.
Secure Packaging
Once cleared, the gold is sealed in tamper-evident, security packaging bearing a unique tracking reference, with full chain-of-custody documentation initiated at this stage.
Insured Transport & Customs Clearance
The consignment moves under insured, secure transport arrangements, with all customs declarations and export paperwork prepared and filed on the client's behalf.
International Delivery & Handover
The gold is delivered to the receiving buyer, refinery, financial institution or individual at the agreed international destination, with signed confirmation of receipt and final documentation provided to the client.
All gold handled by TerraVault Logistics is processed in accordance with Sierra Leone’s mineral trading regulations, including verification by relevant government authorities such as the Ministry of Mines and Mineral Resources and the National Minerals Agency. Our sourcing and handling procedures are guided by internationally recognised frameworks for responsible mineral supply chains, including the principles set out in the OECD Due Diligence Guidance for Responsible Supply Chains of Minerals. Independent assaying confirms purity and weight prior to any export or storage arrangement, and full supporting documentation accompanies every consignment.
